Our mission is to monetise 100 million hectares of global forest
Treecoin started as an idea in 2018 when the founders saw a need for better carbon management in the environmental landcare industry by leveraging the power of modern technology.

Advisors
Treecoin is working with leading researchers and industry professionals to ensure the platform is accurate, transparent and set to achieve our vision.

Our Partners
Treecoin has partnered with businesses that are conscious of their environmental impact and seeking to give back.

Our Footprint
TreeCoin like any other business has an environmental footprint for development, operation and day to day backend systems. Climate leadership goes beyond carbon-neutral emission accounting, so we ensure net-carbon drawdown by retiring tokens which significantly exceed the emissions of our operations. We do this by retiring XCC tokens supporting verified carbon storage in Australia and around the world to cover our:
The carbon emissions of blockchain technology?
TreeCoin is built on Polygon, a Proof-of-Stake blockchain designed for high performance with very low energy use. Independent analysis and Polygon’s own sustainability programme confirmed the network reached carbon neutrality in 2022 through the permanent retirement of carbon credits covering emissions since inception.
A major further reduction occurred after the Ethereum Merge in 2022. The Merge was Ethereum’s transition from energy-intensive Proof-of-Work mining to efficient Proof-of-Stake validation.
Because Polygon relies on Ethereum for certain security and bridging functions as the Layer 1 foundation, this change cut the network’s residual emissions by more than 99%, making Polygon one of the lowest-energy major blockchains.
Carbon responsibility is ongoing rather than a one-time action.
Since 2022, Polygon maintains an active approach to monitoring and addressing residual emissions.
TreeCoin therefore operates on infrastructure that prioritises both scalability and sustained environmental responsibility.
